In the last week of August, the Slovak three-member team of Martin Mancoš, Michal Čmelík and Karolína Cepková took part in the FISU World Forum 2024 in Zagreb, Croatia.
The Slovak University Sports Association was represented by Martin Mancoš, Michal Čmelík is a member of the FISU Student and Media Commission and Karolína Cepková represented Slovakia as a representative in the FISU Student Ambassadors Programme.

Main theme of the forum was “University Sport: creating a better world”, which was complemented by two sub-themes: sport diplomacy and global relations: using university sport for international cooperation and cultural exchange diversity and inclusion: promoting gender equality, inclusiveness and accessibility in university sport The programme included a number of lectures, discussions, workshops and seminars for representatives of national universities, as well as a number of seminars for the representatives of national universities and universities, which were held on the occasion of the Forum.
SLOVAK REPRESENTATIVES ACTIVELY CONTRIBUTED TO THE CREATIVE PROCESS
Slovak representatives actively contributed to the discussions, with Michal Čmelík taking part in the presentation of projects aimed at cooperation and building a better future for schools Karolína Cepková took part in the FISU Ambassadors’ programme, discussing ways to further support students and volunteers in international Martin Mancoš took part in activities for national representatives in addition to the general agenda.
“It was beneficial for me to see how other university sports bodies function I was enriched by two workshops aimed at presenting FISU’s activities towards national university organisations and sharing best practices around the world, as well as the activities of other university organisations worldwide, such as FISU,” said Martin Mancoš from Slovak association of University Sports.
The activities were mainly focused on education in the field of FISU activities and with sports diplomacy or networking within the FISU community.
The event allowed participants to establish international contacts, cooperation and gain inspiration from the work of FISU or other national university sports organizations, which can contribute to open new opportunities for SAUŠ, Slovak universities and participating atheltes.
