The opening ceremony of the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games will take place on 28 July at the Dong’an Lake Sports Park Stadium. With breathtaking performances and an incredible atmosphere, this promises to be a truly amazing experience.
From high above, the Dong’an Lake Sports Park Stadium showcases the elegance of Chengdu City’s identity through the captivating ‘Sun and Immortal Bird’ tattoo. As the opening ceremony venue, it sets the stage for a remarkable celebration, where traditions merge with modernity. An unforgettable experience awaits!
The stadium is located at No. 16, Sports Park Road, Longquanyi District, Chengdu. Being the main venue of Dong’an Lake Sports Park, it covers a floor area of 120,000 square metres, with a capacity of 40,000 seats.
This 50m-high class-A stadium boasts a high-standard VIP reception area and a 29 metres-high, 300 metres-long arc-shaped viewing platform. It fulfills the operational conditions required for opening and closing ceremonies of large-scale activities, sports events such as athletics and football, as well as exhibitions, expositions, commercial performances, TV shows and sightseeing.
